Jofra Archer injury: England Cricket Team suffer yet another fast bowler injury; forcing Paul Collingwood to come in as the substitute.

The list of injured players keep piling up for the England Cricket Team as Jofra Archer too, just minutes after pacer Mark Wood’s injury limped out of the field, during the Warm-up match between England and Australia in Southampton.

It all happened just two balls later after Wood’s injury in the first ball of the 7th over. Shaun Marsh, who was the surprise number 3 batsman for the Aussies today, pulled the short delivery bowled by Ben Stokes in the mid-wicket region. Archer, chasing the delivery, sprinted and flicked the ball back into play, but the momentum carried him over the ropes, making him trip over in the process.

Paul Collingwood comes in as substitute

The streak of injuries forced the England fielding coach- the 42-year-old, Paul Collingwood to come in as the substitute fielder for a brief period, although he left the field moments later. This explains the apparent worrying state of the English squad at the moment.

Before Archer and Wood, England skipper, Eoin Morgan also sustained a minor fracture in his left index finger making him unavailable for the ongoing Warm-up match against Australia.

Batsman Joe Root, also had to hit the field due to dearth of fielders. He had opted out of the match owing his grandfather’ death on Thursday.

Adding to the list of injured players were Adil Rashid, who has a long-standing shoulder injury and all-rounder Chris Woakes- who is not available as a bowler, in the warm-up match today. He also suffers from a long-standing knee problem.
