Chris Woakes catch vs Pakistan: England fast bowler grabbed a terrific catch to send back Pakistan opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq.

During the sixth match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between England and Pakistan at Trent Bridge, England fast bowler Chris Woakes put on display a marvelous diving catch at the boundary to send back Pakistan opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 21st over when Imam tried to force the attack on England all-rounder Moeen Ali. Stepping out to hit the off-spinner over extra cover, Imam made the required connection with the ball. However, it was a diving Woakes who made a beautiful shot look like a false one.

Woakes, who was fielding at long-off, ran to his right and eventually timed his dive to perfection. In what gave the impression of being a certain boundary initially, it ended up as a dismissal for the batting team.

Imam, who opened the batting with Fakhar Zaman, looked good for his 44 (58) with the help of three fours and a six. While Pakistan would have hoped for the southpaw to convert his start into a substantial knock, him getting out has now put onus on Pakistan’s middle-order.

After England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat, the visitors’ opening pair stitched an 82-run opening partnership before England wicket-keeper Jos Buttler stumped Zaman (36) in the 15th over. At the time of Imam’s dismissal, Pakistan were 111/2 in the 21st over.
