Jofra Archer bowled dismissal goes for six: English fast bowler’s ripper saw the ball flying off the stumps into the boundary.

During the 12th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between England and Bangladesh at Cardiff, England fast bowler Jofra Archer castled Bangladesh opening batsman Soumya Sarkar to draw first blood in the second innings.

It all happened on the second delivery of the fourth over when Archer’s snorter came back into the batsman. With the batsman completely beaten by the unplayable delivery, the ball ended up hitting the top of the off-stump.

In what was a 90 mph delivery, it went on to cross the boundary ropes after hitting the wickets. The same happening also spoke highly of the pace at which Archer’s was bowling in the middle. Sarkar, who opened the batting with Tamim Iqbal, ended up scoring 2 (8).

After Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and put England in to bat, the home team posted a colossal 386/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. England thrived on the back of opening batsman Jason Roy’s ninth ODI century. Before getting out in the 35th over, Roy ended up scoring 153 (121) with the help of 14 fours and five sixes.

Roy and his opening partner Bairstow (51) ended up stitching a 128-run opening stand. Other than the opening pair, it was Buttler who scored his 19th ODI half-century. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 32nd over, Buttler scored 64 (44) with the help of two fours and four sixes before getting out in the 46th over.
