Who is playing at Number 4 for India during India vs Pakistan 2019 World Cup match?

Who is playing at Number 4 for India: India captain Virat Kohli finally announced India’s new No. 4 batsman for the all-important match.

During the 22nd match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between India and Pakistan at Old Trafford, India have included a new No. 4 batsman in their squad to replace injured opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan.

It was Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed who won the toss and chose to bowl in conditions which will favour the bowlers. “We will bowl first. It has been raining so conditions are good for bowling. We have quality spinners and we have backed them today. We are not thinking about 6-0,” Ahmed was quoted as saying at the toss.

Pakistan have made a couple of changes to their squad bringing in all-rounder Imad Wasim and leg-spinner Shadab Khan in place of batsman Asif Ali and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Having played four specialist pacers against Australia, Pakistan had received criticism for not playing Shadab Khan.

Who is playing at Number 4 for India

Talking of India, they have only made a solo change. While Lokesh Rahul will open the batting alongside vice-captain Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Vijay Shankar will make his World Cup debut today.

“We would have bowled first to be honest. Wicket looks really nice though and we have two wrist spinners in our team. We will be in good stead if we bat well. That’s the kind of attention [over a billion people expected to watch the match] this game brings but that’s all outside the ropes.

“We have been playing good cricket and we don’t want to tinker much with the team combination. We have one forced change, Shikhar [Dhawan] misses out and Vijay Shankar comes in his place. He is a solid batsman, brilliant in field and gives us few overs too,” Kohli was quoted as saying during the toss.
