Aaron Ramsey transfer news: Two major Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in the signing of the Welshman.

Arsenal has been in sublime form this season. After losing the two opening Premier League games to Man City and Chelsea, the Gunners are yet to drop points in the league. Unai Emery’s side currently sits at 4th in the league, with only two points behind league leaders Manchester City.

The Gunners are also on a nine-match winning streak in all competitions, which include a win in their first round of Carabao Cup over lower-league side Brentford, and two Europa League group matches.

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have found their goal-scoring boots, as both scored a brace in their last match against Fulham this weekend. Arsenal thumped the newly-promoted side 5-1 at Craven Cottage to take a lead over Tottenham in the table.

However, Arsenal faces a situation similar to the one it faced in the January transfer window this year. The Gunners parted ways with contract-rebel Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal with Manchester United, which saw the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. This time, it’s Aaron Ramsey, whose talks of a new contract with Arsenal have broken down.

Aaron Ramsey transfer news:

The Welsh midfielder is the senior-most member of the current Arsenal squad. He joined the Gunners in 2008 from Cardiff City, and has since been a key figure in the Arsenal midfield. Even under Unai Emery, Ramsey has been a first-team starter, and scored a terrific goal in their last match before the international break against Fulham.

Evening Standard now reports that Arsenal are fearing the midfielder’s departure on a free at the end of the season, and hence want the Welsh footballer to instigate a bidding war.

The two clubs who are eyeing the midfielder are Liverpool and Manchester United, and the English outlet reports that Arsenal would be willing to sell the player in January if both the clubs plot moves for his signature.

Aaron Ramsey would be free to negotiate with a non-English club from January 1, if the current contract stands.

What next?

According to various reports, Arsenal has already negotiated a deal with Paraguayan international Miguel Almiron, who plays for Atlanta United in the MLS. It is also being reported by various English outlets that the Gunners are interested in bringing Ever Banega to The Emirates.

Arsenal was linked with the Argentine international throughout the transfer window this summer, but no deal was put on the table.
