Darby Allin says he was hyped to lose the TNT Championship to Miro

Darby Allin says he was hyped to lose the TNT Championship to Miro. Allin says he will still continue to chase the title though.

Darby Allin became the TNT Champion last year after beating Cody Rhodes at Full Gear. He held on to the title for a record 186 days! Allin eventually lost the title to Miro on the May 12 episode of Dynamite. He is currently out of the title picture as Miro is set to defend his title against Lance Archer at Double or Nothing.

In a recent conversation with Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Allin revealed that he wants the TNT title more than the AEW World Title. He made it very clear that he will continue to chase the championship but he was also glad that he lost the title when he did.

“No, that’s a different story. I was hyped to go out when I did because I was having those string of main events and we were drawing good numbers when I was main eventing.

“I didn’t want to overstay my welcome. Like, ‘What the f*ck, when’s this guy gonna lose?’ I didn’t want to be that guy, I don’t have no ego when it comes to this.

“I was like, ‘Dude, I’m ready to roll out when I’m on top with it’. So it was good. I really liked it.”

Allin is scheduled to partner Sting in a match against Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky at Double or Nothing. Once he’s done with the duo, Miro or Archer, whoever walks out as the TNT Champion will probably need eyes in the back of their heads for a hungry Allin.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
