Afghanistan Probable Playing 11 for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Afghanistan Probable Playing 11 for ICC Cricket World Cup: TSR present before you Afghanistan’s Playing 11 for their first match vs Australia.

Ever since having stepped foot into the international cricketing stage, Afghanistan’s momentous rise has made for an inspiring story. Put behind them the circumstances they’ve had to rummage through to rub shoulders with the best teams in the world, Afghanistan have taken no time in adapting to standards of the highest level.

They showed that in the warm-up matches, with the same level of perseverance and resilience prevalent among their current crop of players. It’s a side you should write off at your own peril this installment of the World Cup.

Lined up with some specialist players, the Afghanistan unit with the likes of Rashid Khan, Dawalt Zadran, Gulbadin Naib and Shehzad making them more them a filler side.

With Gulbadin Naib replacing Asghar Afghan as the ODI captain, Afghanistan are looking more than just the side who can spring a couple of surprises in CWC 2019. Top-order

Coming out to open the batting will be Mohammad Shahzad, their wicket-keeper. He’s a player who has of late shown his skill set. It is also the reason why he’s regarded so heavily in the cricketing format. An example of same was evident in the T10 tournament with Shehzad playing some massive innings, ones where his clean-hitting ability came to the fore as he demolished bowlers without any fear.

Shahzad’s partner is not so certain as of yet with the side toying with both Hazratullah Zazai and Noor Ali Zadran recently. They both have had their moments, coming up with important innings. We expect them to go with Hazratullah Zazai in the first encounter with experience being the deciding factor.

With Rahmat Shah at No. 3, Afghanistan complete a handsome top-order.

Middle-order

It’s this department which is perhaps the biggest aberration for Afghanistan with number 4-7 all known to tumble down under the slightest of pressure. However, they have restored faith in the same bunch of players and would be hoping to play according to their potential throughout the tournament.

Freed of his captaincy duties, Asghar Afghan will come in at number 4 and look to play out an innings of real worth now that he’s been relieved of a huge responsibility. Below him is Hashmatullah Shahid, a player they’ll have too much riding on especially with the way he’s shown determination off late to hold fort for his side despite wickets tumbling at the other end.

Veteran all-rounder Mohammed Nabi and Gulbadin Naib will have the responsibility of finishing the innings. Both of them have it in them to take on the opposition bowlers from the word go.

Bowlers

We’ll begin with the spin department, given that it’s going to be Afghanistan’s best bet on this front this tournament. Number 1 T20 bowler and third in the rankings for ODIs, Rashid Khan will be leading Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman and Nabi in this division as the trio loos to come up with the decisive performances for their side this tournament.

Pace will undoubtedly be given charge to Dawlat Zadran, the one bowler who has shone in a line-up that has been guilty of conceding way too many runs. Aftab Alam and Naib will be the ones giving him company to complete what will eventually be a 6-man bowling line-up for Afghanistan, one that provides them with a good option to switch to if their front line bowlers are suffering.
