Alcacer signs for Dortmund: Spain international striker Paco Alcacer completed a €23m permanent move to Borussia Dortmund.

Paco Alcacer has joined Borussia Dortmnd on a permanent deal after an impressive start to the season for the German club. Alcacer joined the Bundesliga side on a loan from FC Barcelona, where he was deemed surplus.

Alcacer failed to break through a star-studded Barca lineup and spent most of his time at the club on the bench. At Dortmund, however, the striker didn’t take long to find his feet.

In 8 appearances for the German club, Alcacer has netted 9 goals, playing a key role for Dortmund in their impressive campaign so far. Borussia Dortmund are currently at the top of the Bundesliga table.

The transfer was announced earlier today. Alcacer has joined Borussia Dortmund on a transfer fee amounting to €23m until 2023.

Alcacer signs for Dortmund:

Paco Alcacer joined Barcelona in 2016 from Valencia. He made 20 La Liga appearances in his first season, but failed to make into first team. In his second season at the club, he player lesser, featuring for Barcelona on 17 occasions in the league.


At the beginning of the current season, he was deemed surplus to requirements and was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund.

In his two seasons with the Catalan side, Alcacer made 50 appearances, scoring 15 goals.

The striker has been vocal about the lack of chances at Barcelona on numerous occasions, stating that he enjoyed his life at Dortmund because of regular football.

He won a La Liga title and two Copa Del Rey trophies during his time at Barcelona.

His impressive start to the season at Borussia Dortmund also earned him a call-up with Spain’s national team. In his two appearances for the national team, he scored 3 goals.

The move will be made permanent at the end of the current season, on July 1 the next year.
