Among Us Player Count: Steam Charts show a recent drop in the number of players playing Among Us

Among Us Player Count: Steam Charts show a recent drop in the number of players playing Among Us. In the last few months, the number of players on Among Us has dropped significantly. This is despite a new map being in the works. According to Steam Charts, the number of peak players has dropped to 87, 792.

Among Us, the online multiplayer social deduction game has been on a rage since the global pandemic started. It peaked during the middle of 2020 and amassed a huge player count.

Content creators and streamers have also brought in their own modifications to keep viewers engaged. Many different mods like Sheriff, Jester, Doctor, etc are making players come back to the game because it is exciting and entertaining.

However, in the last 3 or 4 months, the player count for Among Us has been dropping consistently. Since November 2020, the average player count has been dropping by over 30% every month. The recently released Valheim has also taken over Among Us with over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam.

So, how many players are playing Among Us right now. We decided to check out the Steam charts, and although the number is quite high, it seems like gamers are slowly slinking away from Among Us and exploring new games on the platform.

Among Us player count drops on Steam

In the last 30 days, the average player count for Among Us is just 27, 565.5 and the peak is barely 88,000 players. This is a significant 34% drop since January 2021. But, that’s not where it ends. Since November 2020, the number of players has been dropping each month.

The average player count in November was around 114,344. From there to 27, 565 in the last 30 days is quite the step-down.

However, with Among Us set to drop the Airship map anytime now, the player count should pick up again. But, this is again speculation. Even if it does improve, there is no guarantee that it will remain consistent.

Gamers are fickle about what they choose to play, and once they’ve gotten bored with a game, they will simply move on to the next one.
