Andrew Symonds once allowed two kids to field in a match

Andrew Symonds once allowed two kids to field in a match back in 2008 when Australia were the dominant force in Cricket.

There was a time when Australia was invincible in world cricket. There was simply no side out there that could challenge the side. Between 1996 and 2007, the team had appeared in 4 World Cup finals and had won 3 of them on the trot

In fact, following their 1999 World Cup triumph, they went unbeaten in the 2003 and 2007 campaign. Just before the 2007 World Cup, South Africa emerged as a possible contender to their throne. However, even they were tossed aside in the semi-final before Adam Gilchrist blew Sri Lanka away in the final.

Australia’s dominance would result in Australia playing an All-Star XI comprising of retired stars ahead of the Australian summer. During one such game in November 2008, there was a wonderful moment when Andrew Symonds allowed two children to take his place on the field.

While fielding for the Australian XI, Symonds, who was wired up on the mike, allowed a young boy named Tom to take his place. A few minutes later, Symonds allowed yet another boy named Tom to join the other Tom near the boundary.

David Hussey added to the memorable moment by allowing one of the kids to throw the ball back to the bowler from the boundary line. The jam-packed stadium lapped up the events on the field. They cheered loudly as the children enjoyed one of the best moments of their lives.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
