Anthony Martial scares Manchester United fans with social media ‘transfer’ post

Anthony Martial signed a new contract with United last month. However, he managed to scare the fans with his social media post for AS Monaco.

Anthony Martial is enjoying one of his best seasons with Manchester United ever since joining the side four years ago.

The French forward has scored 9 league goals this season, already equalling his tally for the previous season.

Martial signed a new contract with Manchester United in January, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2024.

However, he gave the Manchester United fans a scare with a post on Twitter for the departing Monaco vice-president, Vadim Vasilyev. Vasilyev was sacked by the club earlier this week due to poor sporting results.

Monaco’s president Dmitry Rybolovlev stated that the reason behind the sacking were some “important mistakes” made during the last year, which led to the worst sports results the club has had in seven years.

Monaco is currently fighting to prevent relegation in the Ligue 1, as the side currently stands at 18th in the league.

Earlier, the club replaced Leonardo Jardim with Thierry Henry, but brought him back last month after the legendary former French striker failed to deliver results.

In his post, AnthonyMartial thanked the former vice-president for the ‘big step in his career.’

The post was innocent and thoughtful but misled Manchester United’s fans as Martial posted a picture of him and Vasilyev holding a Monaco jersey, with 2019 written on it.
