Lucas Perez joined Arsenal in 2016, but found himself out of favour at the club after the first season.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of Spanish forward Lucas Perez. According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Arsenal have agreed a €5m deal with the Portuguese club. However, Sporting Lisbon’s agreement with the player remains.

The Portuguese club will offer Lucas Perez €2m/yr, which is lower than his present wages at Arsenal. Perez earns €3.5m/yr at the club.

The Spanish forward made only 11 Premier League appearances in his first season at the club, making a total of 21 appearances for the club. He struggled in the Premier League, scoring only one goal in the entire campaign.

Perez was later loaned out to his former club Deportivo in his second season at the club, however he could only score 6 goals in 32 La Liga appearances for the club.

In the pre-season tour to Asia, Lucas Perez made an appearance for Arsenal. However, Arsenal have seemingly decided to part ways with the forward.

Earlier, Arsenal completed five summer signings since Unai Emery’s arrival as the new head-coach of the club. The North London club underwent a squad overhaul, and brought two midfielders, two defenders, and a new first-choice goalkeeper in Bernd Leno to the club.

Arsenal will begin their Premier League campaign next week against the defending league champions Manchester City.
