Jean Seri was in a lot of demand in the last transfer window, but somehow the transfer did not go through, despite Barcelona’s aggressive pursuits.
The Nice midfielder was always going to be in demand this transfer window and it now seems that Arsenal are the favourites to secure the services of the £40million midfielder.
Sky sources have reported that Arsenal bosses have already held talks with the representatives of the midfielder and are favourites to land his signature.
Raul Sanllehi, Arsenal’s director of football is a big fan of Seri’s game and wants him to be Arsenal’s first singing in the post Wenger era. However, reports suggest that a deal would go through only after Arsenal have appointed their new manager.
Sanllehi had also tried to sign Seri last year, whilst he was at Barcelona.
The central midfielder scored 2 goals in 30 appearances for Nice last season and could solve all of Arsenal’s central midfield issues.
Fan though fear that a move for Seri could mean curtains for Ramsey or Wilshere. It will also be interesting to see if this move is being sanctioned by the future Arsenal boss, if the board has already agreed upon one candidate for the job.
