Arsenal executed the most embarrassing off-side trap vs Everton

Arsenal executed the most embarrassing off-side trap vs Everton during their Premier League clash at the Emirates stadium.

Arsenal’s unbeaten run in 2020 was under threat in the first minute of their match against Everton on Sunday evening. Dominic Calvert-Lewin produced an exquisite overhead kick to give the visitors an early lead. Embarrassingly for Arsenal, not only did they concede a goal but they also produced the worst off-side trap of all time.

Everton were awarded a free kick shortly after the kick off. The Arsenal backline stood at the edge of the box to set their off-side play. However, Sead Kolasinac had his own game plan. One that involved following Yerry Mina into his own box and thereby rendering Arsenal’s tactics obsolete.

Calvert-Lewin would go on to score from Gylfi Sigurdsson’s curling freekick inside the box while Kolasinac would unfortunately be forced off the pitch with what looked like a collarbone injury. He was replaced by Bukayo Saka who had an almost immediate impact on the match.

The youngster crossed the ball for Eddie Nketiah to score the equalizer. Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in both the halves. Everton’s Richarlison scored before the half-time break. However, it wasn’t enough to end their 23 match losing streak at the Emirates.
