Arsenal have identified former Barcelona manager as Unai Emery’s replacement. The Spaniard has failed to deliver under and the club have lost their patience.
Unai Emery was bought to Arsenal to replace their long serving manager Arsene Wenger. He was tasked with the job of making Arsenal a Champions league side once again. However, at this point, it seems that the task is too enormous for the Spaniard.
It is not just the disappointing results but the manner in which the team has played that has led to outrage by fans. Many are suggesting that Emery is completely out of his depth and is not the saviour Arsenal are looking for; and it seems that this sentiment is shared by Arsenaal’s chiefs as well.
Arsenal have identified former Barcelona manager as Unai Emery’s replacement
According to El Chringuito journalist Kike Marin, Raul Sanllehi is looking to replace Unai Emery and has already made contact with former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique. Enrique is a Champions League winner with Barcelona and led them to the treble that season. In doing so, Barcelona became the first and only team in the Europe to win more than one treble.
However, it remains to be seen if Luis Enrique takes the job. He quit his job as the Spain Manager in June and has been away from the game since. He underwent a huge tragedy when he lost his daughter when he lost his daughter to bone cancer back in August.
It remains to be seen if the 49-year old will want to return to football; especially after undergoing such a loss. However, if he does decide to take the job, he will be an instant upgrade on Emery who has so far shown no spine in the wake of disaster.
