Arsenal have reportedly offered a contract to Lucas Vazquez in a bid to bring him to the club.
Unai Emery’s club has been quite active in the transfer market, with two signings already in the transfer kitty. Arsenal signed veteran defender Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus, and yesterday announced Bern Leno’s signature from Bayer Leverkusen.
While Arsenal are strongly linked with the transfer of Borussia Dortmund’s defender Sokratis Papasthatopoulos and Sevilla’s Ever Banega, fresh reports from Spain suggest that the ‘Gunners’ have also reportedly launched a bid for Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez.
Metro has reported that Arsenal have offered the Real Madrid star a £135,000-a-week, after Unai Emery identified the winger as one of the targets this summer.
According to the Metro, who quoted Spanish outlet OKDIARIO, Arsenal have offered Lucas Vazquez a £7m/year salary, which is triple the amount he currently earns at Real Madrid.
Vazquez, who has been a youth product of Real Madrid, has been one of the club’s star performers. Last season, he made 33 La Liga appearances, and made 53 appearances in total for Real Madrid, scoring 8 goals.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery believes that the Spanish winger has the potential to be a leader at Arsenal, and is ready to test the resolve of Real Madrid with his bumper contract offer.

Vazquez is currently with Spanish national team as they chase World Cup glory in Russia. He made his World Cup debut with a substitute appearance against Portugal in a 3-3 draw. Spain has reached the round-of-16 of the tournament and will now meet host nation Russia.
The Spanish winger can operate on either flanks, and Arsenal lacks attack on the widths. However, it will be hard to convince Real Madrid to sell the player, as he is a first-team regular for the side and a graduate from the youth academy.
