Mesut Ozil out of West Ham game

Mesut Ozil out of West Ham game: Arsenal star will miss the third Premier League match of the season due to reported illness.

Arsenal face a tricky fixture against West Ham United on Saturday evening. The Gunners have a mountain climb against the Hammers following two successive defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea. On the other hand, West Ham United are not doing too well either following two losses in two matches as well.

They have been underwhelming too and lost to Liverpool and Bournemouth. The only thing that separates them is a goal by West Ham this season, something that Arsenal do not have.

Manuel Pellegrini takes on Unai Emery today in yet another London Derby with both the teams trying to claim their first points of the season. All is set at the Emirates Stadium, however, Arsenal have been ruptured by a sad news ahead of this fixture.

The Arsenal star is set to miss the visit of the Hammers following a reported illness that he is suffering. With that now confirmed from Unai Emery’s part in his pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture, Aaron Ramsey is back in the fray to start this important fixture against the Gunners. It now remains to be seen what formational change will be made by Emery.

A 4-4-2 formation seems the best bet with the out of favour Welshman being made way for by the outgoing German. While Mesut Ozil’s presence for the match could have probably seen the Gunners play a 4-3-3 with the former Real Madrid man playing a right winger’s role, Ramsey might fall slightly back allowing Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang to be up front together.

Meanwhile, a 4-2-3-1 cannot be ruled out with the Gabonese international as the sole striker with his former Borussia Dortmund colleague playing just behind him in attacking midfield.

Aaron Ramsey’s chance on Saturday evening will be a golden opportunity for the Welshman to win Emery’s faith. Having said that, an impressive display today might see him start over his German competitor who is going through a turbulent patch.
