Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal received a major transfer boost as one of their major transfer targets confirmed that he could move in the summer.

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-1 victory over Fulham. Xhaka, Lacazette, Ramsey and Aubameyang were all on target as the side secured three points.

As the January transfer window opens, clubs in Europe are completing deals for the summer. Chelsea signed Borussia Dortmund’s attacker Christian Pulisic, who will join the Stamford Bridge side at the beginning of the 2019/20 season.

Arsenal have also been linked with various players ahead of the window, one of them being Nicolas Pepe, who currently plays for French side Lille. The side was linked with a move for the player in the summer as well, but no substantial deal was put on the table.

However, Pepe has now given a huge boost for Arsenal.

Arsenal transfer news: Nicolas Pepe open to move –

Lille winger Nicolas Pepe has insisted that he will open the doors for a move away from the French side at the end of the season. However, he stated that he has no intention of leaving the side in the January transfer window.

“For me, that’s for sure. As the president has already said, my desire is to finish the season at Lille.

“I am under contract until 2022. My idea is to end this season in Lille and then, why not, leave for somewhere in Europe. It would be beautiful.”

Earlier in the season, Pepe welcomed the rumors linking him with a move to Arsenal.

“A preference between Dortmund, Bayern or Arsenal? They’re all big clubs, I was not aware of these rumours, although it’s nice,” the winger told Telefoot.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery opened up on the possibility of a deal taking place in the January transfer window. While he didn’t sound entirely optimistic, he stated that Arsenal ‘can sign one or two players.’

“Its not easy to change or improve our team with the possibilities in the market but the club is working,” Emery said.

“We’re looking at different possibilities. Maybe we can improve in the market if we get the opportunity. Maybe we can sign 1 or 2 players but its not easy.”

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can strike an agreement, or even a pre-agreement with Lille over the signing of Nicolas Pepe.
