Unai Emery is ready to rival Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to land Thomas Meunier.

Arsenal missed out on the Champions League spot after the failure to beat Chelsea in the Europa League final. It was a heartbreak for the whole club which sees the budget go drastically go downhill to less than 50 million. However, they are hoping to ship off some of the players, who are cutting their back by sitting on high wages.

There were several reports quoting that Unai Emery will be coy on selling Mesut Ozil if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Now that it is known, the Spaniard will be focussing on getting the things down in the transfer market. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mustafi, and Carl Jenkinson are the other players expected to head the exit door.

Right-back has been one of the problematic positions for the club. The injury to Hector Bellerin has forced to Ainsley Maitland-Niles to play through the defensive right flank. Stephan Leichsteiner was struggling to compete in the Premier League. In order to bolster that position, Unai Emery is working to bring Thomas Meunier to Emirates Stadium, according to Paris United.

The Belgian International is currently contracted until 2020 and the Gunners have a fantastic chance to get him for a cheaper amount. The 27-year-old moved to Paris from Club Brugge in 2016 and has established as one of the best full-backs in the league. Although things did not go well this season, Meunier is still an integral player under Thomas Tuchel.

Unai Emery still has a good relationship with the board members of Paris Saint Germain despite facing the sack. However, he needs to wind off the interest from Manchester United to stand a chance and sign him.

The Red Devils are also lacking quality through the right-back position and Solskjaer required addition and sees Meunier as a good choice.
