Aubameyang on Tottenham

Aubameyang on Tottenham: The Arsenal striker threw a taunt at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the North-London derby this weekend.

Arsenal are currently 5th in the Premier League table. The side cruised to a 3-0 victory over Vorskla in the Europa League, even as Unai Emery chose to rest a major of the first-team squad. The youngsters shined for Arsenal, as Joe Willock and Emile Smith Rowe grabbed goals for the side.

The Gunners will return to Premier League with a mouth-watering clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side is three points ahead of Arsenal, and are in good form at the moment. After securing a 3-1 win over Chelsea last week, Tottenham kept their chances in the Champions League alive with a win over Inter Milan.

As both the sides meet for the first time this season, Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired shots at Tottenham.

Aubameyang on Tottenham:

In an interview with Sky Sports News, Aubameyang talked in-depth about the clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

“The rivalry is too much,” Aubameyang said. “But we know they are playing well. We know that it will be a tough game but we have to be focused on what we are doing.”

Arsenal have a chance to equal with Tottenham Hotspur in the points table this weekend, and close the gap with top-4.

He was also asked if both the north London clubs could qualify for the Champions League next year. He funnily stated that he hopes only Arsenal qualify for the tournament.

“As an Arsenal player, we hope that only Arsenal get into the Champions League but we know it is tough and maybe both teams will go. It will be a great battle,” the striker said.

Arsenal currently plays in the Europa League after finishing 6th in the league last season. However, the Gunners made a solid start to their campaign in the tournament, as the side has qualified for the round-of-32 and are still unbeaten in the group stages.

What next?

Aubameyang is currently the joint-top scorer of the Premier League with Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero (8 goals). Tottenham’s forward Harry Kane, meanwhile, has netted on 7 occasions in the league.
