Aubameyang Red Card: Arsenal Captain sent off after a dangerous challenge during Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
Aubameyang Red Card: Arsenal Captain sent off after a dangerous challenge during Arsenal vs Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Arsenal Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was shown a straight red card during Arsenal’s Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace. The Gabonese was sent off in the 67th minute after he sent his studs on Max Meyer’s ankle during a nasty challenge.
Aubameyang was initially shown a yellow card. However, the decision was eventually overturned after replays showed that his tackle caught Meyer high on the ankle and could have broken it. After a lengthy review, and despite Arsenal’s protests, the right decision was taken and Aubameyang was shown the red card.

Earlier in the match, Aubameyang put the Gunners ahead with a brilliant finish after Arsenal played a good link up game. Unfortunately, poor defending in the second half saw them squander the lead when Jordan Ayew found the back of the net in the 54th minute.
With Aubameyang receiving his marching orders, the win has become an even more difficult target to achieve. However, Mikel Arteta called Ozil in and sent Martinelli to lead their charge in a bid to find the winning goal.
