Centre-backs David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi were caught out by Pukki, who’s shot deflected off the German and into the net after 21 minutes. The Canaries scored another before half-time, when Cantwell curled a brilliant finish past Bernd Leno after the Gunners were hit on the break.
However, Arsenal captain Aubameyang’s heroics helped the Gunners level the scores. The Gabonese forward scored twice in both halves to help Arsenal salvage a point. The first of the two however, involved the VAR as Aubameyang shushed Tim Krul after placing the penalty behind the nets.
Aubameyang shush celebration after VAR controversy
The Gunners were awarded a penalty after Christoph Zimmerman handled the ball inside the box, Norwich goal keeper, Tim Krul then proceeded to play mind games with the Arsenal skipper. The Dutchman appeared to stall Aubameyang to put him off his game and even succeeded as he successfully made the safe.
However, the penalty was retaken for encroachment through a controversial call from VAR. Aubameyang made no mistake this time and sent the ball in to score Arsenal’s first goal of the night. To celebrate he immediately taunted the keeper with his finger on his lips as if he were asking him to pipe it down.
