The 24 years old Axar Patel has recently become an important part of the Indian Cricket team. The management prefers the finger spinner because he adds strength to batting because there have not been many finger spinners who don’t generally offer what Axar does and that’s why he has preferred ahead of others.

He bowls a tight line and does variations which regularly cause problems to batsmen.

Axar is currently playing for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Recently, England county side, Durham has gone ahead and signed the young left-arm spinner for a period of six matches for the upcoming edition of the England county championships.

Axar has got a six-match deal and will play against Northamptonshire, Sussex, Middlesex, Leicester, and Warwickshire. He will make his debut on the 19th of August.

It’s no surprise that County clubs are seeking to sign more foreign players this year. According to reports, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli will also play for Surrey just after the IPL. He is likely to miss the historical Afghan test and travel to England.

Virat had a bad time with bad on his last tour to England so he wants to play more on England pitches to prepare for the upcoming England tour.

Indian Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara had also renewed his contract with his County club. Suspended Australian Cricketer Steve Smith might be also seen playing for Surrey at the same time. Ishant Sharma will be also a part of the County championship.

At the moment, Axar currently holds the 14th spot in the ICC Rankings and has picked up 79 wickets in the 23 matches he has played in first-class cricket so far. Earlier Durham had signed South African Aiden Markram and New Zealand opener Tom Latham.

This is wonderful for India, as a stint in county cricket is something that is guaranteed to improve you as a cricketer. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Zaheer Khan are great examples of this, and Axar will now hope to follow suit!
