Babar Azam bowled by Kuldeep Yadav: The Indian spinner bowls a beautiful delivery as he knocks over Azam’s wicket at the Old Trafford Ground

During the ongoing Match no.22 of the 2019 Cricket World Cup between India and Pakistan at The Old Trafford in Manchester, Indian leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled a gem of a delivery to dismantle the stumps of the set batsman, Babar Azam.

It all happened during the 24th over of the Pakistani innings. The Pakistan batting duo of Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam were well set at the crease with a total of 117/2 on the board. It is at this moment that the Chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav, bowled perhaps, the match-winning delivery.

Not afraid to flight the delivery, Kuldeep tossed up the delivery to give the ball a beautiful loop. With the pitch turning sharply, the ball came back in after spinning. Babar was clearly a fish out of water, as he had no idea how to face gem. Thus, he could only manage to get a faint inside edge only to chop it back onto the stumps.

Pakistan in trouble

The wicket of Azam, resulted in a flurry of wickets, as from 117/2 Pakistan lost another 3 wickets in quick succession to be reduced to 129/5.

Babar Azam 48 (57) and Fakhar Zaman (62 off 75) headed back towards the dug-out to send Pakistan to the jaws of defeat.

At the time of writing, Pakistan still needed another 183 runs with only 18 overs remaining in the bank. Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, and all-rounder Imad Wasim were at the crease. Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya have pucked up 2 wickets apiece so far.
