Barcelona attempt to bring back Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich have set the price at €70m, but can come down to €50m if a player is included in the deal.
FC Barcelona look set to bring Thiago Alcantara back to the club. According to Sport, Bayern Munich have made the player available in the transfer market, and FC Barcelona want to sign him back. With Andres Iniesta leaving the club, Thiago could fill in as a potential replacement for the Spain’s legendary midfielder.
According to Sport, many players inside the club are pushing Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club president, to personally take charge of the deal. Sport reports that Thiago would be an instant fit for the Barcelona side as he knows the club culture and he won’t need time to adapt to Barca’s style of play.
However, says Sport’s report, the only problem is the Bayern Munich’s asking price. Bayern want to sell the player, but fear that €70m will put off most of the interested clubs. Hence, the German champions have included the option of including a player in the deal, hence lowering the midfielder’s price to €50m.
Sport says that Barcelona want to include Lucas Digne as a part of the deal to bring Thiago back to Nou Camp. According to Sky, the Bundesliga champions are willing to accept France defender Digne, who is valued between €15m and €20m.
Thiago is a gifted midfielder who can walk straight into the Barcelona side. He’s agile and quick, and his gameplay comes straight out of La Masia.
