Marcus Rashford Contract: Manchester United Striker closes in on signing a new five-year, £250,000-a-week deal. The announcement could come before their pre-season tour on July 8.

Marcus Rashford has slowly usurped Lukaku in the pecking order and has become the first choice forward in Solskjaer’s team. The 21-year-old has been linked with multiple European bigwigs but Rashford sees his future at Old Trafford and wants to stay with the Manchester side of Red.

The Telegraph have reported that Manchester United are close to signing a new contract with Marcus Rashford. The new deal will be worth around a massive £250,000 a week. The lucrative contract will also offer him bonuses that will push him to the top of United’s pay scale, just behind Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez.

United are hoping that Rashford will put pen to paper before their pre-season tour to Australasia. They intend to make an announcement before the team leaves on 8th July. United are also hoping they can convince goalkeeper David De Gea, who is in his final contract year, to stay.

The majority of Solskjaer’s squad are due back in on Monday, when the manager and his staff will commence a pre-season programme intended to dramatically boost fitness levels before their planned departure for Perth a week later.

About Rashford

Marcus Rashford has been with Manchester United since he was 7. Rashford scored twice on his United and Premier league debut. He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first League Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. Rashford would go on to score a goal on his England debut as well becoming the youngest English player to score in his first senior international match.

Rashford scored 13 goals in 47 matches in all competitions. United are aware of his talents and this is why they want to tie him to the club for a long time. However, they would definitely demand a greater showing from him, one that they believe he is capable off.
