The Antoine Griezmann transfer saga has taken off from where it landed last season. The speculations regarding his move became so bad that he was booed in Atletico Madrid’s final league game.
FC Barcelona are chasing French star Antoine Griezmann in a bid to strengthen the squad for the summer. And now, according to Sport, the Catalan giants have issued an ultimatum to the French forward.
The report says that Barcelona have asked Griezmann to decide on his future soon. The player earlier said that he will take a decision regarding his future at Atletico Madrid by the start of the world cup.
According to various reports, Griezmann is an “absolute priority” for FC Barcelona. The club believes that the French forward would join them next season, but wants him to make up his mind soon.
Earlier, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu had expressed his desire of signing Griezmann. “Out of respect for Atletico de Madrid, Griezmann has a contract in force and that is why I should not speak about it. But I would like (the player) to be here,” Bartomeu said.

Antoine Griezmann registered 19 La Liga goals this season. He also played a key role in the club’s Europa League triumph.
Sport reports that Barcelona remains optimistic about Griezmann joining the club, but maintain that “anything could happen” in the transfer window.
Griezmann has reportedly been offered a huge contract by Atletico Madrid.
