Barcelona News: Eric Abidal met former Barcelona teammate in Doha over possibility of replacing Ernesto Valverde

Barcelona News: Eric Abidal met former teammate in Doha ahead over the possibility of replacing him with Ernesto Valverde.

Barcelona fans are certainly not delighted with the services of manager Ernesto Valverde and probably Barcelona board is changing its mind over Valverde’s tenure amidst the recent results by the Blaugranas.

The Catalans toured to Saudi Arabia to play the Supercopa De Espana under the newly made format. But on the other side, Spanish outlets are reporting that Barcelona’s director of football Eric Abidal and Oscar Grau met Xavi Hernandez in Doha.

The legendary midfielder has been deemed as the perfect match for Barcelona’s managerial role ever since he took retirement and the Catalans haven’t clinched the same success ever since he left the club in 2015.

Xavi gave his all-time in Europe to Barcelona after he came into the first team through the ranks of La Masia. He was the crucial player under the game-style of the former manager Pep Guardiola.

Moreover, Xavi surely knows every aspect of the club and would be knowing what kind of playing style is most suited for the club. Thus, he seems to be the right candidate to take over as the manager of the club.

Although Xavi has not been exceptional in his managerial stint at Al Sadd but considering his relation with the Blaugranas, he can make things work at Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Barcelona had a heartbreaking night in Jeddah, as they way faced defeat against Atletico Madrid by 3-2 in the Supercopa match. Both Valencia and Barcelona won’t be playing the final match for the club even they won the Copa Del Rey and La Liga respectively.

This has made fans criticize the new format established by the Spanish RFEF. Barcelona is at the top of the table but is on level with Real Madrid with the same number of points.
