What’s next for Mo Salah?

Since his arrival from Rome, Mohamed Salah has been absolutely phenomenal for Liverpool. After Salah’s unceremonious exit from Chelsea, his return to the Premier League has been nothing short of miraculous.

Liverpool paid £39m to AS Roma for the services of the Egyptian but he proved himself worth every penny. £39m sounds like a bargain now, with Salah already notching up 36 goals with 14 more games to go in this season.

It is inevitable that people will talk about Salah, and the rumour mills have been fueling his potential exit after just one season.

Salah’s numbers are comparable to Ronaldo’s legendary 2007-08 season with Manchester United, or Robin Van Persie’s magical 2011-12 season with Arsenal.

This is what Salah’s national team coach had to say about his star man,

“He[Salah] is a great player; he has shown that in Rome and now in Liverpool. He grows and gets better. He is young and can give even more to football. He is a player that I appreciate a lot.”

When asked about this and a possible move for Salah to the Spanish Capital, his coach, Hector Cuper, told Marca, “Salah is a very good player who has the ability to play for Real Madrid without doubt.” Cuper said.

We now hear that Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG are all clamoring for Salah’s signature, and are willing to offer him as much as 200 Million in the summer. Neymar’s 222 Million was a tremendous amount of money, and it could take a similar amount to fork Salah out of Anfield.

In spite of playing just one season at Liverpool, Salah may consider a move away as the chance to play under the bright lights of the Santiago Bernabeu or Camp Nou will not come very often.
