Barcelona set to offer Andre Gomes to sign N’Golo Kante

The French star is set to be lead the summer transfer saga.

Barcelona have completed their second signing of the summer yesterday, as Clement Lenglet finally arrived at Camp Nou. But it seems like the Catalan club doesn’t want to rest as they are now pursuing Chelsea’s top midfielder and one of their key members in 2016-17 title winning campaign, N’Golo Kante.

Kante arrived at Chelsea in 2016, after an incredible season with Leicester City where the club won the league title. Ever since, N’Golo Kante has been the most pivotal midfielder for the Blues. However, many reports claim that Barcelona are now eyeing the French midfielder.

Expert transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio stated that Barcelona wants to sign Kante, and are even willing to offer Andre Gomes as a part of the deal. Andre Gomes’ contract with Barcelona expires in 2021, and has a release clause of €97m.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are said consider Barcelona’s offer due to the impending arrival of Jorginho, who has been one of the major transfer targets for Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.

Kante is currently with French national team, and is set to play for the trophy when France meets Croatia in the World Cup final on Sunday.

Daily Express also reports that Barcelona sees Kante as an effective midfielder and will strengthen Barca’s squad as the club eyes for Champions League glory next season. According to English outlet, Barcelona will offer the French midfielder €225,000/week.

Earlier, Barcelona completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo from Gremio. After months of speculation, Barcelona also reached the deal for the signing of Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet.
