Barcelona Transfer News: Barcelona to sell their forward to fund Matthijs De Ligt's deal

Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell their forward Malcom to fund deal for Matthijs De Ligt.

Barcelona are keen on landing the Ajax Skipper Matthijs De Ligt in the summer transfer window. The Dutch International has prioritized a move to Nou Camp, and looks likely to follow his desire despite interest from Juventus and Bayern Munich. The price tag will be around 60 to 70 million euros.

Ernesto Valverde has already bought Frenkie De Jong for a fee of 90 million euros. Besides these two, Antoine Griezmann is murmured to join for a fee worth 125 million euros. It will take the incoming transfer to nearly 300 million, and they could face Financial Fair Play (FFP problems.

In order to lessen the net spend, Barcelona are keen on cashing in on some of their players. Malcom, who made a move last summer from Bordeaux, has rarely featured for the club and thereby could look elsewhere for game time. The Spanish publication AS have reported that the club is looking to sell him, with Borussia Dortmund coy on the forward.

The German outfit are looking to take full advantage of that situation, but Valverde feels that he will be no shortage of suitors in the summer window. They want to sell him to an English club as they feel that they will be able to recoup more money than they could do with Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund Sporting Director, Michael Zorc has been an admirer of Malcom since his Bordeaux days and wants him on board with Lucien Favre. During last season, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were running for the attacker who cost 41 million for Barcelona. The Blaugrana hierarchy believe that they will be able to recoup more amount than what they paid to Bordeaux a year ago.

It will be an interesting summer as Barcelona slowly move out of the transition with plenty of new faces expected at Nou Camp.
