While all the focus before the final was on Griezmann and Ronaldo, Eder was the one who emerged as the hero by striking a thunderous strike into the back of the net during the second half of extra time.

Before this game Eder had managed to score just 3 international goals in 28 international appearances but he came good when it mattered and gifted his nation that elusive Euro Championship!
