Barcelona Vs Liverpool: Van Dijk frustrated with viral fake quote on Barcelona sensation after Liverpool’s massive 3-0 defeat against the Catalan club.

The Dutch International player is perplexed with a viral quote attributed to him after the first leg defeat against Barcelona. Van Dijk was quoted by various agencies showering praise on Lionel Messi.

“When he is at his best, there is nothing you can do to stop him, I am glad I don’t play in Spain and have to face him every season.” Van quoted was quoted.

However, the 27-year-old defender is adamant that he did not say those words for the Barcelona forward and considers it as a “fake news”.

For the Liverpool’s sensational defender, Barcelona’s home ground visits have been unpleasant till now, as he has conceded 9 goals in just 2 matches over there.

Further, the player faced a lot of criticism by fans, as he also failed to prevent Luis Suarez’s opening goal of the match, which brought his team on the back foot.

Liverpool will face Newcastle at St. James park tonight as their title hopes are still alive. Moreover, they got a mountain to climb in the return leg against Barcelona at Anfield on Tuesday.
