Barcelona shot-stopper Jasper Cillessen has hinted that he’s keen on a move away from Barcelona amid speculation that Liverpool is interested in signing him this summer.

Cillessen who is 29 currently has remained professional throughout his time at Camp Nou and turned down the chance to leave last summer but has hinted he would be more open to a move this summer.

Since arriving from Dutch Giants Ajax in 2016 he has made just 20 first team appearances, with 17 of those games coming in the Copa del Rey, which the Catalan side have won in each of Cillessen’s two seasons.

“I love this club, but I am a professional and I want to play more than 10 games every season — it’s that simple.” Cilessen told Ziggo sport in an interview

Barcelona, however, remains happy with Cillessen’s professionalism and performances since he signed and are not planning on selling him at the end of the current campaign.

However, considering first-choice goalkeeper, Marc André ter Stegen’s phenomenal form this season the scenario is unlikely to change and Cillessen may have to look for a team where he can be guaranteed regular football as he looks to cement his place in national team.

The Dutchman in his interview added that the club already know his feelings and he won’t go to war with them in order to push move away from Camp Nou.

“The management already know [I want to play more], but I also read that they don’t want me to leave and they’re happy with my work. I’m not the type of player to go to war with a club. I’ve been here, in Barcelona, for two years and, for now, I’m going to continue.” Cilessen said.

The only one who’s happy with Cillessen’s situation in Spain is English Giants Liverpool as they target to bring him at the end of the current campaign.

According to Don Balon, the English giants have been watching the Dutchman in his Copa del Rey outings. It is said that the Reds have developed their interest in the Dutch goalkeeper after the lack of confidence in their current goalkeeping department.

Jasper Cillessen left Ajax for Barcelona in 2016 but has since played second fiddle to first-choice goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen. And if some reports are to believed then sources in Spain suggest that Liverpool have held talks with Cillessen in recent weeks and the Netherlands international has responded to rumors that he could leave Barca.

Simon Mignolet, who has only made two appearances for Liverpool in 2018, is being linked with a move away from Anfield. It is reported that Borussia Dortmund and Napoli are ready to battle it out for the Belgian shot-stopper in the summer transfer window.

According to Spanish outlet, El Mundo Deportivo Liverpool have already made contact with Cillessen and Barcelona about a summer swoop – but they are not alone. Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also said to be monitoring the situation closely and could make moves of their own once the transfer window opens.

Jasper Cillessen is surely a world-class talent that will improve any squad with his game.Jasper Cillessen would be a good fit at Liverpool, given that Simon Mignolent is nearing the exit gate. The Dutchman’s cat-like reflexes will surely benefit the Reds. It would be quite interesting to see him plying his trade in English conditions
