Ravi Shastri lashes out at MS Dhoni's critics

For arguably the most powerful cricket board in the world, the BCCI does not really run a tight ship does it?

At 4:30 pm IST, media outlets all over the country reported that Ravi Shastri would be appointed as the next coach of India.

While many people were expecting Shastri to become the coach, the official announcement was met with some amount of surprise on social media.

To start off, the whole selection process looks like a complete sham. It must be painful for the likes of Lalchand Rajput to see this circus act take place.

The removal of Anil Kumble as the head coach started an embarrassing chain of events for the BCCI. First came the fallout. Then came the public character assassination of skipper Virat Kohli.

The news of Ravi Shastri applying for the head coach position only added more fuel to the fire. And now today.

At 6pm IST, BCCI officials denied that Shastri has been named the head coach and informed us that an official word will come out in due course of time.

So now what?

The coach was supposed to be announced yesterday afternoon. But Saurav Ganguly said that they will need to speak to Kohli and discuss a few more things before the coach finally gets announced.

The BCCI really needs to clarify things before it gets ugly. There are already many people who believe that there is a lot of behind the scene politics that is taking place over here.

Hopefully things get sorted out very soon.
