Ben Stokes switch-hit vs Australia: Watch English all-rounder hits switch-hit off Nathan Lyon goes for colossal six

Ben Stokes switch-hit vs Australia: The English all-rounder played a near-unbelievable shot off Australian off-spinner at Headingley.

During the fourth day of the third Test of the ongoing 2019 Ashes series between England and Australia at Headingley, England all-rounder Ben Stokes continued his supreme batting form in the summer as he registered yet another one-man show.

The highlight of his innings came on the penultimate delivery of the 119th over when an unorthodox Stokes went against all odds to hit Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon for a six off a switch-hit.

The southpaw playing such a shot in such a tense situation against an adept spinner like Lyon spoke highly of his skills as an all-rounder.

Having already hit a six down the ground in the same over, not many would have expected Stokes to play another aerial shot. Hitting a six in such a manner made his intentions clear in front of the Australian batsmen.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 60th over, Stokes has scored his eighth Test century to put England in the driver’s seat in what seemed to be an impossible chase. At the time of writing this article, England need only 18 runs to win the match.

Stokes is being accompanied by England’s No. 11 in spinner Jack Leach.
