Best Birthday Wishes for Rohit Sharma: Mumbai Indians, Ravi Shastri and fans wish Hitman on 33rd Birthday

Best Birthday Wishes for Rohit Sharma: The senior Indian cricketer has received plentiful heartening wishes on his Birthday.

India limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma has turned 33 today. Had it not been for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Sharma would have been captaining Mumbai Indians in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League.

Having made his limited-overs debut in 2007, Sharma received plentiful chances despite mediocre performances in the initial years of his international career. It was only after opening the batting on a permanent basis from 2013 that Sharma turned the tables on his international career.

In 140 matches as an ODI opener, Sharma has amassed 7,148 runs at an average of 58.11 and a strike rate of 92.36 including a staggering 27 centuries and 31 half-centuries. It is worth mentioning that Sharma has scored the most ODI runs by an opening batsman in the last decade.

Having scored 2,773 runs in 103 T20Is at an average of 32.62 and a strike rate of 138.78 including an astounding four centuries and 21 half-centuries, Sharma is the second-highest run-scorer in the format.

Sharma, who was handed the captaincy at Mumbai Indians in 2013, has led them to an amazing four IPL titles since then. In 188 IPL matches, Sharma has scored 4,898 runs at an average of 31.60 and a strike rate of 130.82 including a century and 36 half-centuries.

Sharma, who was part of a start-stop Test career, seemed to have cemented his place in the format last year before missing the Test series in New Zealand due to an injury earlier this year.
