Arun quashes comparisons between MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant: The Indian bowling coach was vocal about the two wicket-keepers.
India’s Mohali loss witnessing the visitors chasing 359 in less than 48 overs, it came as a worrying factor for several experts and fans. However, India bowling coach Bharat Arun sounded untroubled despite Australia leveling the series 2-2.

Speaking during the eve of the fifth and deciding ODI at Delhi, Arun cleared the air regarding India continuing with the same combinations during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
“These are not necessarily the combinations which will be used during the World Cup but we would like to know how people perform in different situations for us to pick up a balanced team,” Arun was quoted as saying regarding the team still looking for the best combination.

“More or less, the team is quite sure of what combination is but we would like to try out all our options before the World Cup. We want to be extremely sure [of] what we want before we go into a major tournament like World Cup,” the bowling coach said.
“Unfair to compare Dhoni and Pant”
Having missed a couple of stumping dismissals and given a few runs, India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant witnessed the crowd shouting “Dhoni Dhoni” in a bid to lash out at him. The 21-year old wicket-keeper batsman was also at the receiving end of denunciation on social media platform Twitter.
Speaking during the post-match press conference at Mohali, opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was against comparing Pant with veteran cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Being asked about the same, Arun voiced a similar opinion.
“Unfair to compare Dhoni and Pant. Dhoni’s stature is huge. He is a legend. His work behind the stumps is exemplary. MSD is a huge influence on the team,” Arun added.

“BCCI got permission from ICC”
During the third ODI at Ranchi, the Indian team had donned camouflage caps as a sign of tribute to the martyred soldiers during the unfortunate Pulwama attacks which happened last month. The gesture didn’t go down well with some Pakistan ministers, who asked the International Cricket Council to take action against India.
Being asked about the Pakistani ministers and Pakistan Cricket Board’s views on the same, Arun mentioned that their views is not in our control. “We did what we really felt to show solidarity for the country. BCCI got permission for it. Whatever PCB is saying, it is not in our control,” he concluded.
