Brand value of IPL teams 2019: The defending champions of the Indian Premier League are also doing well off the field.

Apart from receiving a dip in their on-field performance in the Indian Premier League in the recent years, franchises Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders have also received a dip in their brand values.
RCB, who are among the three teams (including Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab) to have played the IPL since its inaugural season without winning a single title, have experienced an 8% fall in their brand value in a recent survey conducted by Duff and Phelps on the IPL and its franchises. As a result, RCB’s brand value has come down to INR 595 crores.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders, who last won the second of their two titles in 2014, have suffered a similar fate. Also down by 8%, the Dinesh Karthik-led franchise has a brand value of INR 630 crores.
Brand value of IPL teams 2019
Defending champions Mumbai Indians, who became the first team to win four IPL titles earlier this year, are also doing well in off-the-field facets of a sports franchise. A recent survey conducted by Duff and Phelps on the IPL and its franchises has recorded an increase in Indians’ brand value post IPL 2019.

The development quotes MI’s brand value to have increased by 8.5% to reach INR 809 crores. Having first on the IPL title in 2013, Mumbai have since then won all seasons falling in odd years – 2015, 2017 and 2019. It is worth mentioning that all the four victories have come under the leadership of India vice-captain Rohit Sharma.
As far as the overall brand of IPL is concerned, it’s value has augmented by a stellar 13.5%. The development has seen the biggest T20 league’s brand value rising from INR 41,800 crores to INR 47,500 crores.
Other IPL franchises
Chennai Super Kings – Up by 13.1% to reach INR 732 crore.
Delhi Capitals – Up by 8.9% to reach INR 374 crore.
Rajasthan Royals – Down from INR 284 crore to INR 271 crore.
