Sri Lankan team stopped from touring India

The Indian Cricket Team has got the job done until now against Sri Lanka. The hosts put up an impressive performance in Tests to win 1-0 in the three-match series. Not everything went according to plan, as India found it a little difficult to finish off the game in the third test, something they will be a little worried about before heading to South Africa.

After a test of patience and perseverance for both the teams, the power-packed action tunes to the ODI format with two different skippers vying to make a bold and brisk statement. Virat Kohli’s absence gives his deputy Rohit Sharma a chance to captain the side.

Thisara Perera is set to captain Sri Lanka for the first time ever and he would be hoping that he can bring in some stability  at the helm of Sri Lankan ODI cricket, as Sri Lanka have been struggling to find that leader who can take their limited overs game to the next level. And hopefully for him and for Sri Lankan cricket, this series can do that for Perera and Sri Lankan cricket.

For the first time in his international career, Rohit Sharma will captain the team and with MS Dhoni’s experience coming into play, Indian fans would be witnessing a new partnership at the helm of Indian cricket.

Shreyas Iyer who made a T20I debut against New Zealand will be looking forward to making his first ODI appearance. Siddharth Kaul could also make it the XI during some part of the series
