Brendon McCullum and Pat Cummins involve in Twitter banter after KKR buys Cummins for INR 15.50 crore in IPL 2020 auction

Brendon McCullum and Pat Cummins involve in Twitter banter: The Australian fast bowler has been bought for a whopping price.

Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins has become the most expensive player in the ongoing IPL 2020 auction. With a base price of INR 2 crore, Cummins was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a gargantuan INR 15.5 crore.

The long-fought battle witnessed Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers and KKR fight for Cummins. Easily among the best fast bowlers around the world, Cummins’ reputation worked well for him despite him not having played in many T20 leagues.

In 25 T20Is for Australia, the 25-year old bowler has picked 32 wickets at an average of 20.12, an economy rate of 6.77 and a strike rate of 17.8.

Given the amount of money spent on Cummins, the Aussie started to make the rounds in the cricketing fraternity across the world and rightly so.

Merely an hour after sealing the deal, Knight Riders posted a video of Cummins across their social media handles. “Absolutely pumped to be back on board at KKR. It’s where I played my first couple of years [in the IPL]. Can’t wait to work with Baz [Brendon] McCullum, Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine. Absolutely pumped,” Cummins was quoted as saying.

It all started with McCullum welcoming Cummins and England captain Eoin Morgan via a tweet. Hailing Cummins’ skills, McCullum termed him as “best on offer” as far as fast bowlers are concerned.

In a hilarious comeback, McCullum suggested Cummins to miss the ongoing Test series against New Zealand in a bid to prepare well for the Indian Premier League.
