Brighton vs Arsenal highlights: Arsenal were disappointing yet again as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton.
Brighton’s passive display was enough for them to hold Arsenal to a 1-1 draw on the Boxing Day fixture.
Unai Emery’s changes in the second half come under scanner as they almost removed the side’s attacking threat.
The side has climbed up to fourth position in the table, but await the result of Chelsea’s game against Watford. However, with the game ending in the draw, the gap between Arsenal and the sixth placed Manchester United has reduced to six points, after Solskjaer’s side registered an emphatic 3-1 win over Huddersfield.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Arsenal’s game:
Since Ozil went off Arsenal have had less possession, have created nothing and still look defensively fragile… I’m sure that’s all a coincidence though

Lacazette was having a really good game today. His linkup with Auba is what was creating us chances. You can see he was pissed again for coming off. Ramsey, Ozil, Lacazette, Auba all should be starting. Brighton would not have been able to deal with it.

Sub Ozil off at halftime. #Arsenal can’t generate an attack in the 2nd half. Don’t think that is a coincidence.

0 chances for us since Ozil was taken off.

Awful result if I’m being honest. I know we have some finished defenders, but I can’t get taking Ozil and Lacazette off. What happened as a result? 0 shots on target in the second half. No Lewis Dunk, this Brighton side were there for the taking. Very frustrated.

F/T 1-1. Really poor.
Emery got that all wrong. The changes made Arsenal worse. No creativity or threat at all. Didn’t ever look like scoring. We’ll wait and see what he says about Ozil, but that change just seemed way too hasty.

Unai Emery: We need to score a goal.
Unai Emery’s brain: Take off Ozil and Lacazette.
Unai Emery: Bu…
Unai Emery’s brain: Take. Them. Off.#BRIARS pic.twitter.com/DKDUgchxIr

Arsenal dominated the first half. Made one silly mistake, and Emery decided to change the entire style of play. Awful second half. Not one player played well after the break, but the manager has to take responsibility.

Emery subbed on a player without telling him what formation they are playing in lmfaooo pic.twitter.com/KKr6mnPl24

We got Lichtsteiner for free and I still feel robbed.

I don’t understand Emery’s starting XIs. I don’t understand his substitutions. I don’t understand what he wants this team to look like. I don’t understand how he wants us to play with the ball. I’m not entirely sure the players do either.

Worst performance of the season but we should have been 2-0 up – missing that chance was pivotal. Emery’s decisions really odd too, hard to make a lot of sense of those subs.
For a team that’s usually good in the second half, we were absolutely terrible. Points dropped badly.

Your work for this team and all Auba’s goals does not go unnoticed @LacazetteAlex 💪🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
