Manchester United are interested in Bruno Fernandes, but have not taken steps to land the midfielder.
Manchester United have shown interest in Bruno Fernandes, but have not taken strides to sign the midfielder from Sporting CP.
The Portuguese international has been linked with Old Trafford move, but Sky Sports reports that the speculations have been driven by Portuguese media rather than English media to escalate his price tag.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder has been scouted by Manchester United, but he is not prioritized by the board. There are various targets in their wishlist and Bruno is just one among them, as per the reports. The record Premier League winners also want a centre-back and right-winger to reinforce their squad to bring back Champions League football again.
United are also yet to decide which players will leave Old Trafford in the next two weeks, which would help the course for any incoming transfer.
In a recent interview, Bruno Fernandes spoke to the media about his intention of playing in England before scoring and assisting one against Liverpool in New York on Wednesday night.
Sporting Lisbon manager Marcel Keizer had admitted that the club will love to keep hold of Bruno, but is resigned to losing their captain before the culmination of the summer transfer window.
“For me they can close the [transfer] window, yes. It would be enough for me. At all times, before starting, one expects exits and entrances. We have to wait.
“We want to keep the best, but we’re in the market. Soon we have to wait. We are not in the position where we can keep everyone. Let’s hope it stays that way.”
“It depends, of course, on who can enter later if Bruno leaves. Quality players like that we can’t replace.” added Keizer.
