At the start of the Group Stages of the Champions League, few would have expected to see a fixture between Atletico Madrid and Leicester City and that too in the Quarter Finals. But the fairy tale keeps on getting better for the Foxes as they host Los Rojiblancos in the 2nd leg of the quarter finals of the Champions league. So the question remains can Leicester City bring back the magic at the King Power Stadium ?

This fixture was carefully considered to be a walk in the park for Atletico as Leicester were entering a European competition for the first time in the club’s history of 133 years and its performance was plummeting from previous year with manager Claudio Ranieri being sacked. But the foxes held its own as Atletico beat Leicester 1-0 at home and that too from a controversial spot kick converted by Antoine Griezmann.
The first leg of the fixture saw a Diego Simone classic, keeping Leicester away at an arm’s length with Jon Oblak not facing a single shot. Everything points to Atletico ending the dream run for Leicester city, but the latter is a club who made a mockery of 1/5000 odds last season. The King Power stadium has witnessed magical moments in the previous Premier league season as Leicester City defied the odds to break the dominance of the big dogs in the league and lift the cup.

A similar result is hard to get especially against a team like Atletico Madrid in the way but with Leicester City, anything is possible.
The foxes would need their star players Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez at their best if they have any chance of reaching the semis. With Leicester City sitting on 12th place in the premier league, they could play the next Champions League season only if they win the title, like Chelsea and Liverpool did in previous years.
