The fullback is set to skip the remainder of the ongoing season
Ahead of their matchup with Liverpool on Saturday, the last thing Leicester City needed was losing a crucial player. Unfortunately for the club, exactly that has transpired with fullback James Justin set to skip the clash.
What’s a bigger cause of concern though for the third placed Premier League side is the fact that the defender will not just be missing the side’s next engagement. Speaking ahead of his encounter with Liverpool, Leicester City’s head honcho, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Justin was set to be out for the remaining part of the season.
Tests Reveal Lengthy Injury
“The scan hasn’t shown up so well. It looks like he has done his ACL which is a devastating blow for us because he has been incredible,” said Brendan Rodgers ahead of his side’s showdown with Liverpool.
“He was walking about after the game and we hoped he would be OK but you have to wait to get the scan.
“He was upset yesterday because he has been so robust for me. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have been too far away from Gareth’s (Southgate) thoughts.
“He is in London with our doctor and trying to get the expertise and the next step. He is tough mentally and he’ll come back a better player for it.
“We have had it with Ricardo Pereira recently, he has come back fitter and stronger and getting his game time up. That will be a source of inspiration.
“Wherever I have asked him to play and whatever position he has been a minimum of 8/10 and has been developing as a top Premier League player.”
The latest development comes as a massive setback to Leicester City, James Justin had established himself a part of the side’s backline in extremely short time with the player making massive strides to be regarded as one of the best players in his role this term.
The club had tasted two cleansheets on the bounce with him at the back off late. The club’s aspirations of emulating those showings are up in smoke after being left devoid of James’ services.
