Carmelo Anthony has finally found an NBA team, but that too isn’t ready to let him play.

Melo has been on Houston Rockets’ roster all this season but they had made a decision to not let him play. At that time it seemed as if Melo had already played his last game in the NBA as no teams seemed interested in acquiring his services.

However, on MLK day, it was confirmed that Carmelo Anthony had indeed been traded to the Chicago Bulls.

The deal was supposed to go through on Monday, but because the league offices were closed due to MLK day, the official confirmation couldn’t come through.

“Carmelo Anthony will not play a game for the Bulls, but it is possible that franchise holds off on waiving him until the trade deadline, league sources tell ESPN. Bulls could include him in a one-for-one trade, but can’t aggregate his contract in another deal” Woj has tweeted.

Now, according to ESPN, Carmelo Anthony won’t be playing a game for the Bulls, but will instead be traded or waived before the trade deadline.

The Bulls might use him in a one-on-one trade before the deadline, according to the ESPN report.

Now, this gives Carmelo Anthony the chance to revive his career in the NBA, as he was seen as an out of favour star just weeks ago.

A trade to the Lakers seems to be his most favoured one and that could go through if the Lakers and the Bulls agree to some kind of trade before February 7th.

The Lakers are interested in securing his services according to the ESPN report and Melo too his interested in going to LA.

“The Lakers maintain interest in Anthony, but do not want to waive a guaranteed player to create a roster spot for him, league sources tell ESPN. If a roster spot eventually opens with LA, yes, the Lakers are a possible destination for Anthony.” Woj has tweeted.

Now, LeBron and the Lakers will need to find a roster spot for Carmelo in the days to come so as to facilitate this move. Melo’s experience and three point shooting could help this Lakers team immensely. His game style will fit right into LeBron’s style and could help the Lakers make that final surge towards the playoffs.
