The 7th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League has reached a phase where teas are fighting I out to finish in the top two. The top 4 teams have played some impressive brand of cricket and are looking to finish their group stage on a high. As we approach the 33rd match of the tournament it will be two top teams Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers fighting it out in anal important clash. The Challengers and the Tigers occupy the 3rd and the 4th position respectively in the points table.
However, it must be noted that both teams are coming off defeats in their previous game and will look to avenge their loss. Cumilla Warrrios proved too hot to handle as they defeated Challengers by 3 wickets in the previous game riding on a sensational knock of 74 of 51 deliveries by Dawid Malan. On the other hand, Khulna Tigers also suffered a defeat at the hands of table-toppers Dhaka Platoon and will look to get their campaign back on track. All in all, we should be in for a pulsating contest.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
The rain has threatened to spoil proceedings in Sylhet. The conditions have been pretty overcast and the team winning the toss could be tempted to bowl and use the moisture in the initial part of the match. The pitch in Sylhet has produced batting paradises and it should be no different today. However, the overcast conditions might mean that the bowlers might get some purchase early on.
Probable Playing XI’s
Imrul Kayes who has been a consistent run-scorer for the Chattogram Challengers had to miss the previous game owing to a hamstring injury. There has been no such official update on him. Hence we believe Kayes might need a match more to recover from the hamstring strain.

Wicket-keepers
Mushfiqur Rahim and Chadwick Walton will be the two wicket-keepers in our dream XI team. Mushfiqur Rahim has been pretty consistent in the tournament so far and smashed a couple of half-centuries in the last two matches. On the other hand, Chadwick Walton is also a powerful striker of the ball and can change the complexion of any match with his whirlwind strokeplay. He has smashed a couple of half-centuries in the tournament and has chipped in with some other crucial knocks as well.
Batsmen
The first two batsmen in our dream XI team will be Lendl Simmons and Rilee Rossouw. Simmons and Rossouw are both powerful strikers of the ball and has the ability to turn the match on its head with their strokeplay. Simmons is coming on the back off a wonderful half-century against Cumilla Warriors albeit in a losing cause. Rossouw started off the tournament in a sensational manner smashing 4 half-centuries in 5 matches. However, he is due for a big score in the last few matches and today might just be the day.
The next two names in our list are Junaid Siddiqui and Shamsur Rahman. Both have been part of the domestic setups for a long time. Siddiqui who has represented the national team looked in good touch in the last few matches and will look to continue the good work. Shamsur Rahman will look to provide solidity in the middle order. His only half-century of the tournament came against Rajshahi Royals.
All-rounders
The two all-rounders listed in our dream XI team are Robbie Frylinck and Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Mehedi who is currently opening the batting looked in great touch against Sylhet Thunder when he plundered 87 against a listless bowling attack. On the other hand, Robbie Frylinck has been the ideal foil for his team. His lusty hitting towards the last few overs and chipping away with some important wickets makes him a very important option in our dream XI team.
Bowlers
Mohammad Amir, Liam Plunkett and Aminul Islam will form the bowler’s category for our dream XI team. Amir bagged two important wickets against the Dhaka Platoon but it wasn’t enough to guide them to a victory.
Liam Plunkett has been an international star for a long time. However, he is due for a match-winning performance. Given his experience at the top level, Plunkett could turn on the gas today. Aminul Islam announced his arrival to international cricket against India and since then his confidence has only increased. He is an impressive wrist spinning option for his captain and will look to make an impact later today.
Captain and Vice-captain
Mushfiqur Rahim will be the captain of the day while Rilee Rossouw will be the vice-captain.
