UEFA could ban PSG star Angel di Maria for hurling abuses at the Manchester United fans during the Champions League clash last night.

Manchester United faced their first defeat under Solskjaer as PSG registered an emphatic 2-0 victory over the side.

Presnal Kimbembe and Kylian Mbappe scored the goals for the visiting side. Manchester United received another setback in the game as Paul Pogba was sent off for a foul on Dani Alves.

Angel di Maria assisted both the goals in the game, but the former Manchester United also had a fair share in controversy.

The PSG attacker appeared to hurl abuses at the Manchester United fans after assisting the goal. His act could now land him in trouble with UEFA.

UEFA could ban Angel Di Maria:

According to Daily Mail (via RMC Sport), Angel Di Maria faces a suspension if proven guilty of breaching the UEFA code.

Di Maria seemed to have shouted “F*** off P***” to the Manchester United fans after PSG’s first goal. The winger was subject to consistent boos from the Old Trafford crowd every time he came near the ball.

After the incident, the crowd also threw a beer bottle at Di Maria.

According to UEFA’s disciplinary regulations, Angel Di Maria could’ve contravened the regulation 15, which deals with the behaviour of players and officials.

The Argentinian footballer could have broken the two clauses inside the regulation – ‘insult with regard to a player or another person present at the match’ and for ‘provocation of the spectators’.

If found guilty, Di Maria could be out of the second leg of the tie against Manchester United in Paris. PSG are already without the likes of Neymar, Cavani and Meunier.

It is still unclear whether UEFA would take action against the set of Manchester United fans who threw a beer bottle at the PSG winger during the game.
