WATCH : Mo Salah scores a stunning solo goal against Tottenham
What a match!
Liverpool and Tottenham shared the points in what was one of the games of the season last night at Anfield. Harry Kane’s injury time penalty rescued a point for Tottenham, as Jurgen Klopp rued his side’s defensive deficiencies after the game.
The match had everything you want from a football match, as end to end action was backed up with a couple of world class goals. First, Victor Wanyama scored the goal of his career as the midfielder smashed a bullet into the top corner.
He met the ball at the half-volley, and sent it past the despairing Karius to almost the smash the backside of the net.
Then Tottenham won a penalty, as Liverpool fans could barely watch as Harry Kane stepped up to take the spot kick. Kane was denied though, as Karius saved his kick in what was the highest point of his Liverpool career so far.
Then Mo Salah took over.
The magical Egyptain beat five defenders and the keeper to score a stunning goal and seemingly won the match for Liverpool. Klopp went charging down the touchline in celebration, as Anfield roared with delight.
In a goal that even the great Lionel Messi would have been proud of, Salah’s stunning strike is right up there as one of the goals of the season.
After a big money move to Liverpool in the summer, Salah has lit up the Premier League, as his world class movement and finishing have been a potent weapon in Liverpool’s arsenal.
Salah’s influence has been stunning to say the least, as no Liverpool fan have imagined his level of success. He became the fastest Liverpool player to score 20 Premier League goals, as the Egyptian wrote his name in Liverpool folklore.
But the drama was not done just yet, as Liverpool’s record signing Virgil Van Djik gave away a penalty in stoppage time to give Kane another chance from the spot.
The Englishman made no mistake this time around, as Kane slotted the ball in the bottom corner to steal a point for his side.
