BREAKING : BCCI announces a NEW manager for the Indian cricket team

The BCCI has decided to extend the contracts of batting coach Sanjay Bangar and bowling coach R Sridhar until the end of the ICC Champions Trophy that will commence from the 1st of June. Also the BCCI announces a new manager for the Indian cricket team.

Bangar and Sridhar have played a crucial role in the recent success of team India. The Indian team has scaled new heights in both the test and ODI formats over the past season. Virat Kohli’s team rose to become the number one test ranked team in the world while also maintaining a very good ODI record.

The players have credited much of their success to Bangar and Sridhar and have reportedly conveyed it to the BCCI that they would like the current coaching staff to continue for the ICC Champions Trophy.

There will be a change in manager as Kapil Malhotra will take over as the new manager of the Indian team.

“It is decided that the support staff will remain the same at the Champions Trophy with the only change being Kapil Malhotra taking over as manager. Bangar and Sridhar have been asked to extend their services for the duration of the tournament and then it will be decided what needs to be done.”

Bangar became the coach in 2014 as has done a commendable coach as the batting coach of the side. Sridhar on the other hand has markedly improved the fielding performance of the side as India have quickly become one of the best fielding units in world cricket.
